A4 paper. The font should be no less than 12 cpi, font type Courier (or suitable font) and margins no less than 2.5 cm. There should be writing
on only one side of a page. The story title should go on the top right hand corner of the page, along with your name and page number. If your
work is accepted an electronic copy of it will be requested. This means a .txt version or a .doc version of your manuscript for Windows
compatible PC.
Not more than 7500 words (no lower limit); any longer will only be accepted if exceptional.
Any works of fantasy, science fiction or horror will be considered, as well as cross-genres fiction. What will not be considered are stories that:
![]() | have child pornography |

![]() | have overused or stereotypical storylines |
What is wanted is something different to the norm. Experimental fiction is accepted.
Filler poetry is accepted to 25 lines. No particular rules about
what is accepted, other than having SF, fantasy or horror content or theme.
All articles are looked at with a view to publication. All
references -- and must be referenced, not a bibliography; there is a difference -- will be checked. Any direct theories or hypotheses must be backed up with references. Articles should not be an abusive piece; Harbinger does not wish to deal with legal issues.
In every issue there is a biography of an Australian writer. This MUST NOT be a bare, dry presentation of facts, but a well-written life story up to 2000 words, preferably no longer. This is to be of any speculative fiction Australian writer that has sold at least 2 short stories published professionally or has at least one book published. Please contact the editor if this is a piece you wish to consider doing.
$10 is paid for inside artwork, and $30 for cover art.
Payment is 1 Australian cent per word with a minimum of A$5 and a maximum or A$50. One contributor's copy distributed, and further copies are available to the writers at a discounted price upon request. Poetry is paid for at $5 per poem.
